WHO AT THE CAVERN SOLD OUT!
See you Sunday!!
THE TWO DOCTORS:PETER DAVISON & COLIN BAKER FOR THE CAVERN (12th January 2008)
The star of the BBC’s recent ‘Children In Need’ Dr Who special, ‘Time Crash’ is heading for The Cavern next year. PETER DAVISON (the fifth Doctor) is one of Britain’s most successful and popular actors, appearing in such favourites as ‘All Creatures Great And Small’, ‘At Home With The Braithwaites’, and ‘The Last Detective’.
Joining Peter will be the man who took over the role of The Doctor from him in 1984, and the star of the previous Cavern event, COLIN BAKER.
As the city gears up towards its year as European Capital of Culture, fans of the world’s most popular sci-fi hero will once again be heading for Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club on Sunday the 4th May 2008. Following two previous sell-out events in 2005 and 2006, Wirral’s very own Dr Who Local Group, ‘FANS LIKE US’ will be bringing a host of guest stars, monsters, props and merchandise to satisfy the Timelord’s most demanding admirers.
Other guests this year include two of the TV show’s most successful producers and writers, BARRY LETTS and TERRANCE DICKS. Legendary names in Who fandom, they presided over what is generally regarded as the golden period of Doctor Who – the mid-seventies (with Liverpool’s own Tom Baker excelling in the title role). Joining them will be a familiar face from the same era - RICHARD FRANKLIN, who played U.N.I.T.’s dashing Captain Mike Yates.
Other confirmed guests include actor CHRISTOPHER GUARD, who appeared with Sylvester McCoy’s Doctor in the 1980s, and the popular NICOLA BRYANT, companion to Colin Baker’s Timelord. Actor PRENTIS HANCOCK appeared in several Dr Who stories, as well as starring in the classic sci-fi series ‘Space: 1999’.
Comedian CHARLIE ROSS (who has also appeared in Big Finish Productions’ series of Dr Who CD adventures) will also be on hand to provide laughs throughout the day.
‘Dr Who At The Cavern 3’ will once again be raising money for the Alder Hey Childrens Hospital ‘Imagine’ Appeal.
Award-Winning Actor and Comedian TOBY HADOKE, whos stage and radio show ‘Moths Ate My Dr Who Scarf’ was recently broadcast by the BBC, will be presenting the all-day event.
There will be opportunities for fans to have their photographs taken with props from the show, plus autograph sessions, merchandise sales, a charity auction with some exclusive memorabilia, and a few surprises on the day.
